(Proverbs 3:5) Trust in the Lord with all thine heart…..
(Psalms 40:4) Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust…
Trust is relying on the integrity, strength, ability, surety of a person or thing; confidence.
What do you trust?
Do you truly have confidence in what God has said about you, your family or your situation?
(Phil 4:19)….He has supplied all your needs… or (2 Peter 1:3) …hath given into us all things pertaining to life and godliness…
In life it is easier to trust in what you can see, taste, touch or smell. In most cases that’s how we govern our lives. We have even came up with cute sayings like “If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it must me a duck” or “ seeing is believing”. I am here to state that we have it all wrong kingdom citizens. The word of God tells us not to be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Rom 12:2). As people of God we cannot operate like the world operate.
Who do you trust?
On any given day situations and circumstances will attack your thinking and in that moment what you have confidence in the most will answer the question. To explain, a severe pain occurs in your knee what is the first thing you do?
- Complain about the pain
- Talk to your relatives, spouse or friends about the pain
- Call your primary doctor for an appointment
- Confess the word of God over you knee (Isa 53:5) and Ask the He what do you need to do to receive that healing that He has already provided (Prov. 3:6)
In life you must trust and have confidence in God more than your situations or circumstances, your success depends on it. For years we have been trained to use our five natural senses to conduct ourselves but to be successful citizens in the kingdom of God on this earth we must develop in the things of God.
First step in developing in the things of God is to understand that God and His word is the same. God is His word. (John 1:1) The mind must be renewed to be able to get this truth. Renewing your mind simple means you had exchange your thoughts for the word of God and believe in your mind, to the point that it radiates through your heart, what the Word of God said about your life. You have to trust the word of God more than anything and from that trust action is born.
When we take inventory over our life we will begin to see that we put our trust in all the wrong places. We trust the doctors, teachers, spouses, money, friends, etc., but when it comes to the word of God there is minimal trust. This has to change!
(Jeremiah 17:5)…Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm…
I don’t want to be cursed so I trust God and God alone. What does that mean or look like when people are everywhere and we live on earth and not heaven?
Trusting God and God alone on earth simple means that I allow the word of God, God is His word, to weight in as final authority in every situation, circumstance and conversation. I trust God. To explain, let refer back to the example of the severe knee pain. In this situation, your body is talking to you. Your body is saying something is wrong and it needs to be fixed. I trust God more than my pain so I response:
Heaven Father I thank you that over 2000 years ago you paid the price for healing in my knee according to (Isa 53:5) and I receive that healing. Father God show me what I need to do to access what you have already made available.
Now my trust has positioned me to hear specific instruction from God. From that place He might even instruct me to go to the doctor but I trust Him and not myself or the pain. This is how life in the kingdom of God should operate here on the earth.
